The idea to redesign the umbrella came after watching someone carrying an umbrella with the rain dripping from the canopy down her back from the canopy. I realized that having the pole in the middle of the umbrella restricts its best use.
The Fanbrella has taken several years to develop into a finished product, it is a complex process which has involved many iterations of prototype manufacture, testing and adjustment.
